{"id":11324,"date":"2023-09-12T14:03:27","date_gmt":"2023-09-12T12:03:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bollettinodarte.cultura.gov.it\/?page_id=11324"},"modified":"2025-02-17T12:49:31","modified_gmt":"2025-02-17T11:49:31","slug":"elisa-debenedetti-marmi-quotidiani-il-rapporto-fra-pacetti-e-giuseppe-valadier-attraverso-i-giornali","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/bollettinodarte.cultura.gov.it\/?page_id=11324","title":{"rendered":"Elisa Debenedetti: \u201cMarmi quotidiani\u201d: il rapporto fra Pacetti e Giuseppe Valadier attraverso i Giornali\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"justify\">\n<p><strong><strong><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Estratto dal volume speciale <em>Vincenzo Pacetti, Roma, L\u2019europa all\u2019epoca del Grand Tour <\/em>(2017)<\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">Sorvolando sui disegni ormai noti dei <em>Tavoli Sistini<\/em>, l\u2019intervento \u00e8 stato diviso in due parti.<br \/>\nOpere moderne, dove la collaborazione fra i due artisti si rivela amichevole, trattandosi di richieste di lavori da parte dell\u2019architetto allo scultore: nell\u2019esaminare infatti i disegni progettuali del Duomo di Spoleto e le opere di scultura e di arredo all\u2019interno e all\u2019esterno di quello di Orvieto (<em>Fonte battesimale<\/em> e statua della <em>Concezione<\/em>) riusciamo addirittura a contestualizzare lavori non compiuti a Roma (<em>Tomba del Cardinale Valenti<\/em>), o mai presi in considerazione nei dintorni (<em>Colonna dell\u2019Immacolata <\/em>a Tivoli). Difficilissimo si fa invece il rapporto quando si toccano questioni di statuaria antica: la <em>Pallade di Velletri <\/em>e la societ\u00e0 Torlonia. Nel contendersi infatti la preziosa eredit\u00e0 di Bartolomeo Cavaceppi, il Valadier finisce in prigione e il marchese citato in tribunale, senza che la vertenza sia sciolta prima della morte di Pacetti nel 1816.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>\u201cDaily\u00a0marbles\u201d:\u00a0The\u00a0relationship\u00a0of\u00a0Pacetti\u00a0and\u00a0Giuseppe\u00a0Valadier\u00a0as\u00a0reflected\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0Giornali <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<p>Sidestepping the well\u2013known <em>Tavoli Sistini<\/em>, the essay is divided into two parts. The first treats modern works, in which the collaboration between Pacetti and Valadier was affable, as it concerned the architect\u2019s requests for work by the sculptor. By examining the project drawings for the Cathedral of Spoleto and the sculpture and decoration of the exterior and interior of the Cathedral of Orvieto (<em>the baptismal font <\/em>and <em>Conception statue<\/em>) it has proven possible to contextualize works that were not executed in Rome (the Tomb of Cardinal Valenti) as well as works in the environs not previously taken into consideration (the Column of the Immaculate in Tivoli).The second part treats questions regarding ancient sculpture, e.g., the Velletri Pallas and the Torlonia association, in which the relationship between the two artists became extremely strained.
