Il riscontro tra incisioni di autori e tempi diversi documenta la presenza di pi\u00f9 fasi di restauro per queste opere, mentre la rilettura degli inventari della raccolta Giustiniani ne attesta la disposizione all\u2019interno del palazzo a San Luigi dei Francesi attraverso i secoli fino all\u2019Ottocento, quando le sculture passarono ai Torlonia e vennero separate per decorare le varie residenze di citt\u00e0, con esiti diversi.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>Three Giustiniani statues and their forgotten origin in Velletri<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">The paper examines notes taken by antiquarians about three statues in the Torlonia Museum on Via della Lungara. They provide information about the three being brought to Rome from Velletri. This information is missing from more recent documentation. There is also a description of their purchase in the first decades of the 1600s at the hands of the Marquis Vincenzo Giustiniani. By confronting etchings made by different hands over different periods it becomes clear that the statues\u00a0have been restored more than once. The Giustiniani collection of archives revealed that the statues were on display in the family\u2019s palace on at San Luigi dei Francesi up till the 1800s.
