DECORAZIONI PERDUTE, RINNOVATE, RESTAURATE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"justify\">Il contributo studia le decorazioni a stucco nella chiesa della Pace adottando un approccio diacronico, investigando le sopravvivenze e operando per ricostruire quanto perduto sulla base delle testimonianze delle fonti e dei dati documentari. Nel testo si prendono in esame singoli casi di impiego dello stucco, come la \u201ccontraffazione\u201d, secondo quanto testimoniato da Vasari, della <em>Presentazione di Maria al Tempio<\/em> di Peruzzi \u00abcon uno ornamento di stucco attorno, mostrando essere appiccata con campanelle grandi al muro, che paresse una tavola a olio\u00bb, o la preziosa decorazione della volta della cappella Cesi. Tre sono gli episodi che verranno scandagliati con maggior attenzione. Il primo riguarda l\u2019intervento di Giovanni da Udine nella cupola dell\u2019ottagono (1522\u20131525 circa), perduto ma attestato dai documenti; il secondo, la realizzazione dell\u2019apparato plastico della cappella Chigi (1627\u20131628); il terzo, la sontuosa orchestrazione di Pietro da Cortona per il rinnovamento dell\u2019intera fabbrica (1655\u20131659).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Stucco work in Santa Maria della Pace: lost, renovated and restored decorations<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The paper analyses how the stucco artwork in Santa Maria della Pace developed over time. Relying on archival evidence, and working from what has survived, it has been possible to acquire an idea of what has been lost. The cases of what Vasari refers to as \u2018imitation\u2019 stucco are taken one by one. In his description of Peruzzi\u2019s <em>Presentation of Mary in the Temple<\/em>, for example, he talks of \u00aba stucco ornament around it, (with the painting) appearing to be hung on the wall with large bells, resembling an oil painting\u00bb. He also comments on the exquisite decoration of the vault of the Cesi Chapel. Three particular cases are taken in greater detail.
