Orsi, tra le quali i famosi\u00a0pinakes\u00a0a rilievo, proviene un nucleo di antefisse a testa femminile, notevoli per qualit\u00e0 e resa formale, databili tra la fine del V e la prima met\u00e0 del IV secolo a.C.<br \/>\nIn questo lavoro i materiali vengono esaminati dal punto di vista tecnico e stilistico, inquadrandoli all\u2019interno delle produzioni della coroplastica architettonica locrese, capace di elaborare gli influssi e gli stimoli provenienti da ambienti esterni, senza tralasciare l\u2019analisi del loro significato simbolico e discutendone la possibile l\u2019attribuzione all\u2019unico edificio finora conosciuto all\u2019interno del santuario, la cosiddetta \u2018edicola tesauraria\u2019 scavata da P. Orsi.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Locri Epizefiri: female\u2013head antefixes from the Sanctuary of Persephone<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sanctuary of Persephone on the Collina della Mannella at Locri Epizefiri (Magna Graecia\/Calabria) is famous for the many votive offerings brought to light during the excavations of P. Orsi, including the famous pinakes, terracotta relief plaques related to the myth and cult of Persephone. From the same site comes a group of female\u2013head antefixes, remarkable for their accomplishment of form and technique, datable between the end of the 5th and mid\u20134th century BC.<br \/>\nIn this article the antefixes in question are examined from a technical and stylistic point of view, and placed in the wider context of architectural terracotta production at Locri and its assimilation and elaboration of influences and stimuli from other centres of art elsewhere. The symbolic significance of the antefixes is also analyzed. Their possible attribution to the only building so far known within the sanctuary, the so\u2013called \u2018edicola tesauraria\u2019 excavated by P.
