L\u2019autrice indaga sull\u2019origine del linguaggio formale utilizzato nelle incisioni dei palazzi muovendo dall\u2019attenzione rivolta dalla trattatistica rinascimentale al disegno di architettura, in particolare alla discussione sui criteri utilizzati per la raffigurazione delle architetture antiche, che \u00e8 posta in relazione con gli esiti formali delle scelte tecniche di alcuni artisti (Serlio, Dosio) per illustrare gli edifici moderni nei loro trattati. Da queste esperienze si passa all\u2019esame delle incisioni dedicate ai palazzi a partire dalle stampe su Palazzo Farnese realizzate da Beatrizet, sia dal punto di vista del linguaggio formale della rappresentazione, sia dal punto di vista del suo valore di testimonianza grafica del costruito.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\"><strong>The Representation of Palaces in Rome in Sixteenth Century Prints<\/strong><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<p>The infrequent representation of sixteenth\u2013century palaces in engravings produced up through the middle of that century is the spur for the hypothetical reconstruction of the context out of which arose the interest in the theme. The author investigates the sources of the formal syntax utilized in the engraved views of the palaces. Starting from the attention to the architectural drawing in treatises of the Renaissance, and in particular to the discussion on the criteria for representing ancient architecture, this syntax is examined in comparison with representations of the architectural and technical lexicon utilized by several architects (Serlio, Dosio) to illustrate modern buildings in their treatises. The author then turns to the engravings illustrating the palaces, beginning with Beatrizet\u2019s prints of the Palazzo Farnese.
