Note critiche sulla fortuna e sul restauro della scultura"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"justify\"><strong>Estratto dal fascicolo 35-36 (luglio-dicembre 2017)<\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">Il recente restauro della scultura berniniana di\u00a0<em>Santa Bibiana<\/em>\u00a0si \u00e8 rivelato uno snodo cruciale nell\u2019interpretazione critica e nella lettura dell\u2019opera nel suo contesto. Dall\u2019indagine storica condotta tra le carte d\u2019archivio e le fonti antiche sono emersi dati significativi, relativi agli spostamenti subiti dalla statua nel corso dei secoli, ai precedenti restauri e alla realizzazione nel Settecento di una madreforma per eseguire calchi in gesso. Si \u00e8 potuto inoltre constatare che la posizione della statua all\u2019interno della nicchia appariva diversa da quella originariamente definita da Gian Lorenzo Bernini e che tale modifica aveva in parte compromesso la lettura dell\u2019opera, concepita quale segmento di un\u2019unit\u00e0 complessa.<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"justify\"><strong>\u201cArs est celare artem\u201d. Critical notes on lucky breaks and the restoration of the statue<\/strong><em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">The recent restoration of Bernini\u2019s\u00a0<em>Saint Bibian\u00a0<\/em>has proved vital to a critical interpretation and understanding of the work within its intended context. Important information has emerged from the archival research and historic fonts. These document the various times the statue has been moved over the years and its previous restorations. They also tell of how a mother mould was made in the eighteenth century so as to be able to make plaster casts of the statue. It came to light that the statue\u2019s position in the niche differed from Gian Lorenzo Bernini\u2019s intended one.
