Luigi Breventani (1847-1906), illustre erudito bolognese, studioso della sua citt\u00e0 natale e dei suoi monumenti d\u2019epoca medievale, si conserva tra le carte appartenute all&#8217;architetto bolognese Pietro Fiorini (1539-1629), oggi conservate nell\u2019Archivio Arcivescovile di Bologna. Si tratta di un progetto d&#8217;altare inedito, di altissima qualit\u00e0 grafica, di cui si ignorano il committente, l&#8217;autore e la destinazione. In base all&#8217;analisi materiale e stilistica del foglio, che mostra la forte dipendenza da modelli michelangioleschi e raffaelleschi, il saggio propone l&#8217;attribuzione del progetto a Pellegrino Tibaldi (1527-1596), artista lombardo ma di formazione bolognese, individuando in via ipotetica anche il luogo al quale l&#8217;altare era destinato.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>An unpublished drawing by Pellegrino Tibaldi for a Bolognese altar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The drawing was in the collection of the illustrous Bolognese scholar Monsignor Luigi Breventani (1847\u20131906). The clergyman\u2019s work focused on his city of birth and its mediaeval monuments. The drawing is among the papers that had belonged to a Bolognese architect, Pietro Fiorini (1539\u20131629). These are now housed in Bologna\u2019s Archivio Arcivescovile. The altar project was as yet unpublished. It is unknown who commissioned the high quality graphic work, nor who produced it, nor where it was intended for. Material and stylistic analysis of the sheet has revealed that the drawing relies heavily on models similar to Raphael and Michelangelo. This has led the writer to attribute it to Pellegrino Tibaldi (1527\u20131596), a Lombard artist of Bolognese training.
